International Admission

Application Sign In

In most years, about 20 percent of students come from outside the U.S., contributing to a diverse and international community bound by understanding and respect.

Applicants who live outside the United States should follow the same process as US residents, with only a few differences:

If English if not your first language, TOEFL or SLEP scores are required as part of your application. TOEFL scores can be sent directly to The Putney School using school code 8079.

If visiting Putney’s campus is not possible, we will arrange the required interview via video or phone. This interview is scheduled only after you have submitted your application in its entirety. On-campus interviews can be scheduled anytime.

Once you have been accepted to The Putney School and have signed your enrollment contract, we will issue you an I-20 form that will assist you in getting your student visa.
